I have taught advanced physics and co-taught prep physics to juniors at Wheaton Warrenville South High School (Wheaton, IL) using the modeling methodology for seven years.  I was introduced to Modeling Instruction by AMTA Past-President Jim Stankevitz (IL), when I was hired at WW South. I took my first modeling workshop, led by Jim Stankevitz at the University of Illinois Chicago during the summer of 2011.  Since that time, I have taken additional workshops in physics and chemistry. I have led six summer Modeling Workshops in mechanics and electricity & magnetism. In the spring of 2016, I had the opportunity to co-lead the AMTA’s first online distance-learning Modeling Workshop with David Weaver (AZ).  Currently, I also serve as the technical director for the Midwest Modeling Institute held annually at WW South HS every June.

In joining the AMTA board, it is my desire to give back to the organization and Modeling community that has provided me with the training and support to develop as a science educator.
